Adam Sandler is an American comedian, actor, musician, screen writer and also a film producer. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, USA on September 9, 1966. His father was an electrical engineer and his mother was a school teacher. He found that he was a born comedian when he spontaneously took the stage at a Boston comedy club as a stand-up comedian at the age of 17. He performed regularly in clubs and universities while he was graduating at New York University. He was nominated for the Golden Globes Awards for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture in 2003 for his role in Punch-Drunk Love (2002). He has won and was also nominated for several other awards. He is known for his comedy roles in movies such as Mr. Deeds (2002), Big Daddy (1999), Happy Gilmore (1996) and Billy Madison (1995). Adam Sandler has also performed dramatic roles in movies such as Reign Over Me (2007), Spanglish (2004), Punch-Drunk Love (2002) and The Wedding Singer (1998).
Adam Sandler started Happy Madison Productions in 1999. Most of his movies are produced by this production company. He is married to his longtime girlfriend, model and actress Jackie Sandler (2003). They have two daughters, Sadie and Sunny. The Sandler family lives in Los Angeles. They also have a house in New York. Adam Sandler is a fan of professional wrestling.

Some of Adam Sandler's upcoming movies in year 2010 are Grown Ups, Born to Be a Star and The Zookeeper. In Grown Ups, he is working with Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade and Rob Schneider. Dennis Dugan has directed the movie. The story is about five friends, who were also basketball teammates. After their childhood basketball coach passes away, they reunite at a lake house to honor their coach. This is the same lake house where they had celebrated their championship. They spend 4th July weekend together with their wives and kids at the lake house. In this weekend period they realise the real meaning of "growing older" and "growing up". It will be released in the USA on 25th June 2010.
